How do I start?

What do you do?

I read through your work and make or suggest changes accordingly. The level of corrections depends on the agreed-upon level of editing.

Make OR suggest?

Yes, this is completely up to you. I could either comment suggestions so you can decide or I can draft the changes into the manuscript. All this can be discussed by e-mailing me.

How do you charge?

We will discuss terms we can agree upon via e-mail and sign a contract. Payment can be by check or via Paypal. I do require at least a 25% non-refundable initial deposit before the project is started.

I have to sign a contract?

Yes. I've found a mutual contract eliminates a lot of confusion during the process. Terms can always be changed; but, this way, both parties have to be notified and it removes confusion.

Can you help me write?

To a small degree, but this is ghostwriting, not editing. This is included in Level 3 of my services. However, this does not include writing the book completely. I am willing to co-author.

What genres do you do?

I am exclusive to fantasy and sci-fi. This is because I am most experienced with these genres as well as my passion for them augments my abilities.

Do you do short stories?

Absolutely! Anything from short stories, novelettes, novellas, to novels.

How long will this take?

That depends on the length of the raw manuscript, the amount of corrections to be made, and the intensity or level of editing agreed upon. I calculate an estimated completion date based on the first 10 pages of the raw manuscript.

Why you?

Many editors may correct most of your spelling and grammar mistakes, but they offer little imaginative input and stylistic suggestions. Having read hundreds of fantasy and sci-fi novels, I add a genuine love of the genre to the work and ensure that it stays interesting to fellow readers.

Do you do rush jobs?

Yes, but they cost 50% more.

Do you do re-edits?

Yes. If you'd like me to re-evaluate your manuscipt, it will cost half the total cost of the initial edit.

Will you work with other editors?

No. This is to eliminate lack of communication, discrepency over style, and optional grammar and spelling corrections.
For example, I personally use the Oxford comma as I believe it to be more articulate. Other editors may not. If you'd like me to make special corrections, it must be noted beforehand.

Do you do sample edits?

Absolutely! Sample edits up to 1000 words are free of charge.
